清明扫墓，谓之对祖先的“思时之敬”

谁造的房子更坚固，是掘墓的人，他造的房子可以住到世界的未日。清明了，不知道另一个世界的亲人，他们过得还好吗？

As Taoist & Chinese, we shall show our Respect & Gratitude to our Pass-on ancestors, Grandparents, Parents or any Family Members.

This Year, the Actual Qing Ming falls on 05 Apr 2009 (Sunday), but for Chinese Culture, Qing Ming Festival will starts 10 Days earlier and end 10 Days after the actual Day.

So the whole Qing Ming Festival will starts from 26 Mar to 15 Apr.

Tomb-sweeping Day or Festival, a public holiday on the fifth day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar, is one of the most important festivals in China. As the name implies, it is the day for cleaning up ancestral tombs (祖墳). Graveyards are located on hillsides away from the city, and grass is often allowed to grow luxuriantly (茂盛地)for most of the year - hence the necessity to cut it all down at yearly intervals(一年一次).

Additionally, offerings(祭品) of food and drink are placed in front of tombs - typically fruit, meat, flowers, and so on. Then the family gather to pray while paper 'ghost money' is being burned. Another important Tomb-sweeping Day tradition is the placing of paper on the tombs. The people believe the tomb to be the residing place of thedeceased's spirit, and placing the paper on the tombs is equivalent to putting new tiles(瓦) on the roof of a house. The paper is held down with small stones so that the paper will not be swept away by the wind.
